Hello! I’m Lore, a pastry and raw chef. Desserts have always been an important part of my family’s life. I surely inherited my father’s sweet tooth. Like him, I believe that no special occasion is truly special without a great dessert. Yet he also taught me the importance of a healthy integrated lifestyle, advocating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables as well as the avid pursuit of sports and physical activity. I was raised in Barcelona, the city I still love best. Since I was small, I have had a passion for art, and a talent for numbers. I studied civil engineering and for a few years I taught math. But I was not satisfied. My true calling lay elsewhere. I moved to the US in 2015. It was the start of a new life! I enrolled at a pastry school in Houston, and later graduated as a Raw Chef from Matthew Kenney Culinary.
After some time in the States, I now live my life between Shanghai and Barcelona. I love to travel and immerse myself in different cultures, learning from them all. Today I put the knowledge I’ve acquired to good use, creating delicious, beautiful and healthy desserts. I express my artistic side through my creations and photos; I share my enthusiasms through Instagram, my website and (hopefully soon!) in my books. I invite you to come along with me on my journey, and to share your impressions as well. My goal? It is to inspire others and to prove that everyone can partake in the joy of delicious sweets, without guilt. I created Dates & Avocados for everyone with a sweet tooth.
Because I believe that we all have a right to guilt-free, healthy and nutritious desserts.
Because I believe that sweets made with whole, organic, plant-based ingredients, without refined sweeteners, are the most satisfying treats of all.
Because I believe that we all deserve to indulge in desserts and pastries that feed our spirits while they satisfy our cravings.
After all, what makes us happier than a luscious sweet or chocolate-y bite?
